Beautiful meeting in Twisp, Washington
October 18-20 2019
The eight hardy souls (two of whom were new and one was almost new) that came for the Twisp event were rewarded with beautiful fall colors and cool, crisp weather. The park was a new one for Cascadia and it is worth going back to sometime in the future; all of us (except Sherry in her fifth wheel) had riverside sites and there was a huge dog run.
We had a delicious and ample potluck dinner on Friday night and decided, given the low turnout, to postpone the Murder Mystery Dinner Party planned by event captain Sherry Lombard. We will do the murder mystery sometime next year when more people can participate and appreciate Sherry’s prep work. We met for tasty breakfast, provided by Christine Taylor, on both Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, we visited TwispWorks (a collection of artisans who moved into buildings that were formerly used as a forest service camp), shopped and ate lunch in Winthrop, and attended a fun local music event in downtown Twisp in the evening.
On Sunday morning we christened the rig of new member Paula Deneui, and on Sunday afternoon we gathered in Sherry’s rig to watch the Seahawks game, which didn’t end as hoped. Most of us hung around and departed on Monday for the picturesque ride home. This event marks the handing of the reigns over to the new Board for the next year – thank you for volunteering!
